Vinyl Laminate Flooring

By wheelman

from Wyomissing, Pa.

This product was easy to install, looks great and doesn't require any advanced skills. If you can measure and cut straight, you can do it.
The transition molding sold with this product looks cheap, is slippery if stepped on and does not do any justice to a nice finished look.

    Cons

      Best Uses

      • Great Floor For Pets
      • Great for high traffic

I have had laminate and carpet flooring in my home and this vinyl plank floor is great. The look is so authentic that people think it is real wood, but the feel in more giving and not so hard on your feet. It is very warm (with the insulated floor barrier) and is very forgiving of missed spills and pet accidents.

            Bamboo and African 5MM

            By Central NY Installation

            from New York State

            Verified Reviewer

            Pros

            • Has Been Easy To Put In

            Cons

              Best Uses

Products were fairly easy to work with. Make sure temp and humidity are not high and use block to tap into place as a tendency on the 5mm not to stay together. Time will tell if 5mm product holds up to student housing potential abuse.

                Service and delivery comments:

Final pieces were difficult to get - it took weeks to get a couple of pieces that were needed to finish the work.

                  • Q:

I would like to glue this or other vinyl products down when carpet is removed in my three bedrooms. I have glued vinyl, in living, dining and library/office rooms, its been there 15 years and still looks and feels good. Cement under carpet, what glues and/or underlayments, should be used? As I am in Florida and have always wanted Bellawood hardwood, can it be glued to an above grade (3 ft.)cement floor? How about my vinyl floors, can the Bellawood be glued to them? What glues? Is an underlayment required, if so what kind? Thank You, Carolyn F. McCormack

                      Existing Sheet and Tile Flooring
Existing flooring must be fully adhered and in good condition. Existing floating floor must be removed. Repair any damaged areas. Heavily cushioned vinyl floor or vinyl floor consisting of multiple layers are not suitable as a sub floor. Ceramic tile, and terrazzo installed must meet flatness requirements. Make smooth by applying a cement overlay such as patching or leveling compound to smooth out surface and grout joints. The Tranquility clic can be installed with or without an underlayment. I know this material is not recommended for stair use. What type of nosing could I use if I want to use this flooring for the hallway and landing, and switch to something else for the stairs themselves?

I am worried that a stair nosing that is meant to be used with laminate would not work with this floor as it would be too thick.
